Dear Friends and Family,
We are so excited to announce that we found out this morning that we are scheduled to go to court in Uganda on March 6th to adopt our little boy!!! This is shocking and exciting. We really expected to get a court date closer to April. We are thrilled and trusting God's timing as He has been so faithful throughout this entire process. We are planning to leave around February 28th to be able to spend some time with Martin and meeting with our lawyer before we go to court. We can't wait to give our little boy lots of love that has been storing up over the last 9 months of waiting! I will plan to stay until around March 8th if everything goes as planned, and Brad plans to remain for up to 6 weeks until everything is finalized and we pray that he will be able to bring Martin home at that time or even a little sooner.
Please be in prayer for us! Pray that God would provide the care needed for our kids while we are gone, and give us energy as preparing to leave the country in 2 weeks in our walk of life is intense! Please also pray that God would prepare our hearts and our kids and Martin for all the changes ahead. Pray for our court date, that God would give us favor with our judge and that nothing would need to be re-scheduled, and that everything could be done quickly so Brad would be able to return home with our little guy quickly! Above all, please pray that our eyes and hearts would be fixed on Jesus and nothing else, through whatever circumstances lie ahead! We cannot walk in this out of our own strength.
Please also pray that God would provide for us financially. Out of the $25,000 the adoption costs, we are still in need of around $9,000 that will be needed over the span of the next 6 weeks. As crazy as this sounds, we know that God is more than able to provide for us!
